If you can keep a check on the most common mistakes new bloggers make, your blogging journey could be pretty amazing, you can’t even imagine the things that can happen!
I’ve been blogging for more than 10 years and I know what it is like to look back and regret about past mistakes.
Frankly speaking, I don’t want you to go through the same roller coaster of emotions that I did.
Now that I am done with the regret part, the only thing I can do is to make current youthful bloggers realize about their worst blogging mistakes 🙂
1. Wrong Niche Selection
Although it’s absolutely right to select a niche, picking a wrong one is not right. Therefore, here’s what you need to keep in mind before choosing a niche.
Whenever you choose a niche, make sure to strike the right balance between your interest and its value.
If you have an interest in sewing and it brings no value, or the potential to earn cash, you shouldn’t enter into that niche.

2. Extreme Money Making Desire
Extreme money making desire is another of the biggest blogging mistakes bloggers make.
Being a blogger, you need to stay patient for a good few months, potentially about 3-12 months without thinking about money.
Not only this, but every tiny detail is also taken into consideration while blogging. If you keep thinking about money while blogging, you can’t make revenue as a new blogger.

3. Compromising Content Over Website Design
Content matters more than your blog design. If you end up wasting your time designing, when will you write content?
Always remember! Your blog design is the appearance of the car and your content is its engine.
If your car looks great and doesn’t start, it’s useless. Similarly, if it looks bad and riding well, you may not like to show it.
Content is King But Quality is its Queen
4. Not Understanding Your Audience
Understanding your audience is one of the most important factors while blogging. If you don’t get your audience and understand what makes them tick, you may write something that may turn them off.
In addition to this, how could you take care of your revenue model?
An example of this is in the beauty niche. It is great with affiliate marketing but if you put Google Adsense out there, you will lose more than 80% of the revenue.

5. Plagiarising Another Blogs Content
In the blogging world, copying is strongly condemned. It doesn’t matter whether it’s content, videos or images, you shouldn’t copy at all. If you think you can do so behind Google’s rank, you are wrong my friend!
Google is a billion-dollar company. They have bots that can automatically send Google a message that this guy has copied the content.
So, one thing is clear, if you copy – Google won’t hesitate to hurt your rankings. The rest is up to you!
6. Picking A Poor Web Hosting
This is in the Most Crucial Blogging Mistakes to Avoid List.
Web hosting is the power of your blog. If there’s a lot of website downtime (meaning your blog disappears from the internet), visitors won’t think twice to leave your blog. That’s why always get the best web hosting for your every blog.

7. Neglect Search Engine and Blog Optimization
New bloggers mostly focus on website’s appearance and content. They never understand the fact that if they won’t do proper search engine optimization, their website will take ages to rank.
SEO, or search engine optimization is the act of doing certain things to help your website rank better.
Along with SEO, they don’t even pay attention to how fast their blog load. However, blog optimization and SEO go hand in hand.
Although SEO is a part of Blog optimization, it’s a big part of SEO. That’s why I highlighted it separately.
8. Picking Quantity Over Quality
Picking quantity over quality is the biggest blogging mistake for your career. One or two posts in a single week can do nice. There’s no need to post content daily. That’s not how blogging works!
Along with writing, there are many other things that you need to handle. And guess what? Google also understands it. So, take a chill pill and pump out quality content for your blog.
